Malhar GuptaMalhar has a bachelor’s degree in computer science from India. After working for a international software services company for 2 years, he joined University Of Michigan School of Information in January of 2009. Katie McCurdy
Katie McCurdy is in her second and final year of the Human-Computer Interaction graduate program at the University of Michigan School of Information. She came to school with a background in web and taxonomy design, and she’s always been a bit crafty. She worked last summer as an interaction designer at VMware and designed a mobile application to enable IT administrators to manage and monitor their virtual machine infrastructure. Honor PotvinHonor Potvin is a graduate student at the University of Michigan School of Public Health in the Health Behavior and Health Education program. She has worked previously as a paralegal, a special education teacher, and a teaching artist. She most recently worked with Genesee County Community Mental Health on a variety of projects related to the start up of their new Health & Wellness Department. She is most passionate about health promotion in high-need communities and the creative use of health communication.
Kimberly SongKimberly Song is a 1st year graduate student enrolled in the Human Computer Interaction program at the University of Michigan School of Information. She received a BFA in industrial design at the Rhode Island School of Design, working on various electronic and health care products. She is especially interested in health informatics, and is considering a dual degree at the School of Public Health in Health Management and Policy. For the past year, Kim has been freelancing as an industrial designer at LG electronics and Staples. Her goal is to provide empowerment to patients by allowing them to self-manage healthcare through well-designed medical products and interfaces.
Xiaowen ZhangXiaowen Zhang is a first year graduate student at University of Michigan School of Information, and she is specializing in Human-Computer Interaction. Xiaowen came from China this year with a B.S. in Computer Science. Her strong interest in Interaction Design brought her here to explore the advanced techniques and novel ideas taught at the School of Information. She believes technology should be more humanized and easier to access.
